I've been following the tragic case of Andrae Ellis, and I've been thinking a lot about the impact unanswered cases like his have on the families and loved ones left behind. While I didn't know Andrae personally, I can only imagine the pain and frustration his family must feel, not having closure for such a senseless loss. It's been years now, and the lack of progress in his case is honestly alarming. Selma saw so many lives lost during that period, and it’s tough knowing that Andrae's story is one of many that remain unresolved. Living in a community where violence seems to go unnoticed or unpunished must feel incredibly disheartening. Sometimes, I read about the few platforms where people can remember him by lighting virtual candles and sharing memories, and it reminds me that he was more than just a name on a case file. I really hope that these cold cases receive the attention they desperately need. The families deserve answers, and the community deserves to feel safe again. It's hard not to feel a sense of urgency for justice, both for Andrae and for all those others who have yet to see their cases solved.
