I was just diving into the details of Mari Ann Fowler's disappearance, and something really jumped out at me about her case. It's the timing and location of where she went missing. While the police did a thorough job of pulling surveillance footage from the nearby liquor store, I can't help but wonder if there might be any other businesses in that strip mall or nearby that could have had cameras pointing towards the highway or parking lot. I would think that catching even a glimpse of the pickup truck on a different angle could provide more clues about its make or model.
It's a real head-scratcher because even though the footage they got was grainy, sometimes you can catch little details from multiple angles or frames. Did any other store owners come forward with tapes, or was the liquor store the only one with cameras back then? I feel like there could be untapped evidence just waiting to be found, even after all these years. Would love to hear if anyone has more info or thoughts on potential oversight in that aspect of the investigation!
Did anyone else find it odd that Derrick Todd Lee got so incredibly defensive whenever Mari Ann Fowler’s name was mentioned? I mean, he was known to have committed some truly horrific crimes, but it's like her case struck a different chord with him. Could it be that something more personal happened during the abduction, something that wasn’t just part of his usual MO, if he indeed was involved?
Also, I can't shake the feeling that there's more to that poor quality liquor store surveillance footage. In so many cases, it seems like a tiny detail can get overlooked or misinterpreted until someone takes a fresh look with a different perspective. It's wild how advancements in technology could potentially unlock new leads from old evidence, yet there seem to be roadblocks. Weren’t tire tracks found, too?
I just can't help but wonder if re-examining those traces with newer forensic techniques could still reveal something, even after all these years. Would love to hear thoughts on these points or if someone has additional info on any investigation updates. Keeping my fingers crossed for a breakthrough someday.
