Anyone looked into the route William Howell might have taken from Bel Aire to northeast Wichita? It's curious because if he often hitchhiked this route, maybe someone who regularly drove that way saw him or heard something. Considering he was familiar with the trip and interactions along the way, I wonder if there were any changes or new developments in the area around that time? Maybe a new driver or someone new offering him rides? Just seems like someone must've noticed him, especially since it sounds like he was a regular on that path.
