Anthony Devon Barnes was 16 when he was shot and killed in Southeast Washington, D.C., in the early hours of a Wednesday in August 2010. He was in the 2200 block of Fairlawn Avenue when the Metropolitan Police Department arrived about 12:51 a.m. and found him suffering from gunshot wounds; he was taken to a hospital and later died of his injuries.
The case remains unsolved. The Homicide Branch has asked the public for help and the Metropolitan Police Department has offered a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction. Friends and neighbors remembered Anthony as fun, energetic, and caring, and a small memorial was placed near the shooting site.
Does anyone who lived near Fairlawn Avenue in August 2010 or who knew Anthony have information that could help resolve this case?
