Hey everyone, I found myself going down the rabbit hole on the Deborah Lyyn Sanders case again. One thing that's really been gnawing at me is this: what was Sheppard’s endgame? The man served a verrry lengthy contempt of court sentence for not producing her—one of the longest ever, right? It just doesn’t add up if he really knew where she was or if he had nothing left to lose, why keep up the façade? Either he's got a secret squirrel mind and bought into his own fantasy, or maybe something more sinister went down. Wondering what others think about his motivations or if there’s any case out there with a similar turn of events? It just feels like he was playing a long con game here, but for what? Always hopeful for a breakthrough, but I can't shake the feeling there's more lurking beneath the surface. Any thoughts or theories?
I've been diving into the case of Deborah Lyyn Sanders and it's just gut-wrenching. I came across something that really stood out to me. There was a mention about when Sheppard took Deborah to a relative's funeral in Memphis. This was apparently the last confirmed sighting of her. Does anyone else find it odd that Deborah was seen in such a public setting, yet nobody intervened, or it didn't lead to any significant breakthroughs in locating her? Funerals tend to have multiple witnesses, and you'd think someone would have raised a red flag. I wonder if it was already too late by then, or if people were perhaps scared of Sheppard due to his history of violent threats. It's always baffled me how some pivotal moments in these missing persons cases don't end up being more fruitful in terms of gathering leads. If anyone has more details or thoughts on this specific aspect, please share.
