I’ve been diving into the case of Emily Roberta Richards, and something that keeps nagging at me is the timing of her disappearance in relation to Bruce's arrest. It’s strange that after the FBI started looking into her, she vanished, and then Bruce ends up jailed the next year. Could it be that Emily went underground because of something more than just the counterfeit check scheme? I wonder if she had information that people didn’t want getting out. And how odd it is that she supposedly married Bruce after he served time. Just feels like there's more beneath the surface, like maybe a pressure cooker situation. Anyone else have thoughts on why someone would just disappear on the cusp of such events?
Hey everyone, I wanted to bring up something that’s been bugging me about Emily Richards' case. Has anyone else noticed how odd it is that she wasn't reported missing until 2015? That's over 50 years! I came across a few articles and threads suggesting family members were scared to come forward because of Bruce’s connections to organized crime.
I'm curious if anyone else has looked into the timing of Bruce’s arrest in ‘65 and Emily's supposed marriage to him under her real name in ‘66. Could it have been a forced situation, or maybe an attempt to start over? It seems bizarre to me that after being involved in a counterfeit check scheme probe by the FBI, she'd just reappear to marry him only to disappear again.
Would love to hear if anyone has any more info about Bruce's activities post-1966, or why the family might've waited so long to report her missing. Seems like there's a lot more to uncover here.

My father, her first cousin, was just a child when she went missing and family had always told him they just assumed she was dead because of her boyfriend during that time. Her family never reported her missing. There were some post card communications just prior to the FBI case, and some rumored communications after but none that have a year attached to them. By the time I started looking into this, doing all of the criminal research (2008), most of her family were deceased. Most of the information was also long gone. I do have an FBI laboratory tag, that was attached to a double negative photo of her, and a letter that was used as evidence in the FBI case. But so far, only myself has been able to decipher it.

The tag was based out of the St.Petersburg FBI headquarters, with a case number. I requested multiple FOIPA requests with the FBI , first being unknown, second being located and empty, and third and final request was located and documents destroyed.

Tell me that's not bizarre in itself!!!
