Has anyone else been following the chilling details surrounding the disappearance and murder of Norma Jo Crutchfield? I’m trying to wrap my head around the fact that Chase Freeman got such a light sentence for his role in concealing the crime. The thought that someone could aid in dismembering a body and only serve a few years is unsettling. It really makes me wonder how these plea deals are determined. I understand he cooperated with the authorities, but considering the gruesome nature of the crime, it just feels like an injustice to Norma Jo and her family. Anyone have insights on how plea bargaining in such serious cases works? It seems like Slaw and Freeman's actions not only destroyed a life but also left the family with so many unanswered questions, especially with her body never being found.
