Did anyone else catch the bit about the security recommendations not being implemented at the DPW facility? It’s so frustrating when things like this happen, and you learn that steps could have been taken to prevent it. I’ve been thinking that the workers, including Larry Hutchins, deserved to feel safe at their job, especially given the hours they worked. It’s chilling to think that the shooter just walked in wearing a DPW jumpsuit, blending right in. This makes me wonder why those security upgrades were seen as optional rather than necessary. My heart goes out to Larry’s family and friends—he should have been able to complete his shift and return home safely. I hope that the investigation gets the breakthrough it deserves and that future measures are put in place to ensure safety.
