Hey everyone, I’ve been diving deep into John Parsons' case and noticed something curious about the Waimalu Trail where he went missing. It's not a well-trodden path by any means—pretty challenging and largely used by pig hunters instead of hikers. I can't help but wonder if the challenging terrain and unusual path choices had anything to do with how the initial search was conducted. Did rescue teams perhaps miss important areas of the trail because they were sticking to more conventional paths? It seems like the kind of place where it'd be easy to miss something crucial, especially if you're not familiar with the hunting routes crisscrossing the area. Also, knowing that John's dentures and pension card were found a couple of miles away suggests he might have gotten seriously disoriented or injured. I’m really interested in hearing everyone’s thoughts on how the rugged nature of the trail might have affected search efforts, especially from anyone familiar with search and rescue operations in similar terrains!
