Hey everyone, I stumbled across Erick "Li Erick" Johnson's case recently and my heart goes out to his family. I can't stop thinking about his little boy who will never get to meet his dad. It’s such a cruel twist of fate that Erick’s life was taken just days before becoming a father.
I've been wondering about the events leading up to the shooting. From what I gathered, the intersection of North Decatur Street and Columbus Street is a pretty busy area. Does anyone here familiar with the area think it’s possible that someone witnessed what happened but hasn’t come forward? It seems like a spot where someone might have seen or heard something.
Also, kudos to Erick's mom, LaShon Thomas, for her relentless pursuit of justice. It's got to be unimaginable dealing with such a loss while trying to find answers. If anyone has any updates or wants to brainstorm ideas to raise awareness, I'm here. Let's help keep Erick's memory alive and support his family in any way we can.
I’ve been thinking a lot about the intersection where Erick "Li Erick" Johnson was allegedly shot — North Decatur Street and Columbus Street. It's only a couple of blocks from some residential neighborhoods, and I know there must have been witnesses or at least someone who remembers hearing something that night. If you were in that area on January 6, 2020, please think back to that day. It was around that time that so many people were still talking about New Year's resolutions and starting fresh. Just 22 days before he was about to become a father, Erick's life was taken. It’s so tragic, and I feel deeply for his family, especially for his son who will grow up hearing stories his father should have been around to tell. I urge anyone with even the smallest piece of information to come forward. No detail is insignificant when it comes to seeking justice and closure for Erick's family.
