It's puzzling how Mitchell Szegi’s boat ended up completely adrift with no sign of him. I was reading some reports and it seems odd that the boat was found in gear but disabled, about 40 miles from where he set out. What could have caused the boat to become disabled yet remain in gear? Could it have been an equipment failure, or maybe something else entirely? I'm also curious if anyone has considered the weather conditions at the time. Strong currents or a sudden storm could have played a part. It's just heartbreaking for his family not to know what really happened. If anyone has insights into maritime incidents like this, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Hi everyone, Just wanted to get some thoughts on the condition of Mitchell Szegi’s boat when it was found. It seems odd to me that the boat was still in gear but disabled. Did anyone ever figure out what might have caused it to become non-operational? Was it mechanical failure or something more unusual, like an obstruction? This detail keeps sticking out to me because it feels like there’s more to it. For experienced boaters or anyone familiar with the area, what natural factors might have contributed to the boat being found 40 miles south of its original course? Hoping someone might have insights or theories on what could’ve happened. Thanks for any thoughts you can share.
