Reginald L. Williams was 22 when he was fatally shot on the evening of Wednesday, April 6, 2011, on Yuma Street SE in the Washington Highlands neighborhood of Washington, D.C. The shooting was part of a double homicide that also killed 20-year-old Joshua Ruffin and came during a week of heightened violence in the city.
Friends and family held candlelight vigils and a funeral service for Williams the following week. The Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch opened an investigation, publicly asked the community for help, and offered a reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
Did anyone in Washington Highlands at the time have information or recollections that could help explain what happened that night?
