I've been reading through the details of the disappearance of Wonny A. Kerr, and something about the timing really sticks with me. With the accident happening around 11:30 p.m., it was already dark, which must've made everything even more chaotic and difficult. Plus, the Florida coastline can be pretty tricky at night, even for experienced boaters. The fact that the good Samaritan was able to spot and rescue the colleagues in the dark is nothing short of a miracle. But it also makes me wonder if the darkness made it nearly impossible to see Kerr in the water, even with the yellow rain jacket. Does anyone have experience with night searches or know how visibility might impact a rescue operation like this?

Does anyone know if any flotation devices were found by the rescue team or washed ashore after the boat capsized? I’m no expert, but it seems they could've offered some help in a situation like that, especially since the others were rescued. It’s been two years and I still can’t wrap my head around what could’ve happened to Wonny Kerr. Seeing a case go cold is always tough, but I keep wondering if anything else was found during that 110-hour search across such a large area. Could tides or currents have worked against Kerr even if he did have a life jacket? Any thoughts or similar cases with different outcomes? Hoping someone might have more insight into situations like this.
