I've been following Lamar Dontaye Whittaker's case, and something that's been weighing on my mind is the sheer randomness of it all. Imagine just stopping to help out someone with car trouble, thinking it’s just another ordinary day, and then this tragedy strikes out of nowhere. It’s disturbing how fragile and unpredictable life can be.

I can't stop thinking about how the spirit of community and kindness sometimes puts good people in harm's way. Dontaye Whittaker was only trying to help someone in need when he was struck by such senseless violence. It's truly hard to wrap my head around the randomness of it all.
