I’ve always wondered about the safety equipment on board that ill-fated trip. For a pro athlete like Victor Cooper, wouldn’t there have been life jackets or maybe even a satellite phone on the boat for emergencies? I know hindsight is 20/20, but it feels like with such high-profile individuals, precautions might have been better. It’s such a small vessel to head out on in the Gulf, where conditions can change quickly. Just thinking about how these small details make a big difference in survival situations has got me wondering if they could have altered the outcome. Did anyone come across discussions or interviews about the preparations they took that day?
