Has anyone else been following the tragic case of Derika McGhee and her son Aiden in Tuscaloosa? My heart goes out to their family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. It's devastating to hear about the years of abuse Derika endured at the hands of Darrin Patton. It's a chilling reminder of how domestic violence can escalate with such severe consequences. I was deeply touched hearing about Aiden's involvement with the Tuscaloosa Batmen youth baseball team. Imagining how this little boy, so full of life, enjoyed his time on the field hits home for many of us who have kids around the same age. It’s incredibly tough to process such a loss, especially when it involves a child with so much promise. Let’s hope more awareness and support systems can help prevent future tragedies like this. Sending strength and love to everyone affected.
