I was reading about Marcelino Serna's case and something stood out to me: the detail about him often being found around Adams and Magnolia streets previously. Given that he never strayed too far from these areas in the past when he "walked away," it seems odd that there was no sign of him around there this time. Could it be that someone offered him a ride or that he met someone on one of his daily walks who had other intentions? Also, considering he typically had around $300 on him, I wonder if anyone checked if there were any unusual transactions or if anyone had come forward trying to use his cash. It’s puzzling—how can someone just vanish like that, especially somewhere he was so familiar with? Would love to hear any thoughts or insights!
I’ve been thinking about the sighting of Marcelino Crisogono Serna on December 3, 1979, when someone reported seeing him hitchhiking near Arlington and Streeter. Given that Marcelino was known for his long walks, it makes me wonder if he could have been trying to head somewhere specific that day. Did he ever mention a place he wanted to visit outside his usual routine, or was he trying to meet someone? It just seems odd he'd be hitchhiking unless he was trying to cover a longer distance than usual. Also, considering he typically carried $300 in cash, it's surprising there aren't reports of anyone finding anything related to that. I hope the authorities revisited that area thoroughly when the sighting was reported. Anyone familiar with that area from that time who can shed some light?
