Reading about Derante Person’s tragic death, I can’t help but think about the ripple effect this loss has on the community. It’s terrible to consider that an entire neighborhood is living in fear after such a violent event, especially with reports of Praather Hiley being armed and dangerous. I can only imagine how unsettling it must be for the residents of the Frederick Douglass Apartments. It must be incredibly hard living with the constant worry about safety, not knowing if the person responsible is around. I hope the authorities are able to locate Hiley soon, not just for justice, but to help the community feel safe again. No one should have to live in fear of violence. If anyone has any information that could help, please step forward. Let’s all hope for some peace for Derante’s family and friends and for those living in the area.
