I can't stop thinking about the impact of this shooting on St. Stephen's Episcopal Church and how crucial community support is during times like these. Jane Pounds seemed to be a beloved member, and it breaks my heart to think about how her friends and family must be coping. The "Boomers Potluck" was such a warm event meant to bring people together, and it's hard to fathom how something so joyous turned into such a nightmare. I read that the church is planning to build a memorial labyrinth, which I think is such a thoughtful way to honor the victims, including Jane. It could be a meaningful place for the community to gather, reflect, and hopefully find some semblance of peace. What do you all think about how communities can better protect or support places of worship? I’d love to hear your thoughts.

I've been following the discussion about the St. Stephen's Episcopal Church tragedy and wanted to share some thoughts on the sheer strength of the community in the wake of this horrific event. The way the church members came together to remember Jane Pounds, Walter Rainey, and Sarah Yeager is truly inspiring. It’s unimaginable to think of such violence occurring in a place meant for peace and solace. Jane's funeral was packed with those whose lives she touched. Her commitment to her church and community was evident by the overwhelming turnout and the heartfelt stories shared by those who knew her. While nothing can undo the pain of losing her and the other victims, it’s comforting to see the church's commitment to honoring them with the proposed memorial labyrinth. It serves as a reminder of their enduring presence and the love they spread within their community. I hope it brings some healing to all who loved them.
