I can't stop thinking about the woman who was injured during the shooting that took young Nelson's life. It must have been incredibly traumatic for her, and I hope she's receiving the care and support she needs to heal both physically and emotionally. In situations like this, the focus is understandably on the life lost, but the survivors carry a different kind of burden, having witnessed such a tragic event. My heart goes out to her and to Nelson's family. This senseless violence has ripples that affect so many lives, and I hope their community can come together to find peace and justice.
Hey everyone,
I haven't been able to stop thinking about that precious little boy, Kemo, and how his life was taken so suddenly. I've been particularly focused on the role of community leaders and what more they can do to prevent such tragedies. I read that Mayor Reed spoke about curbing gun violence after the incident, and while it's definitely a step in the right direction, I can't help but wonder if there are more concrete actions we should be pressing for.
Has the community discussed any particular programs or initiatives to address the root causes of gun violence? Maybe other cities have models that could be effective in Montgomery. Nelson's family deserves some action along with condolences, and it might be worthwhile to rally behind proposals aimed at truly making a difference. Feeling frustrated but hopeful for change, because these innocent souls deserve it.
Would love to hear your thoughts or any updates if anyone's in the know.
Stay safe out there. ?
