Kevin Delonte Lucas was 28 when he was shot and killed on the evening of November 21, 2013, in the 100 block of 34th Street Southeast in Washington, D.C. Officers from the Sixth Patrol District found him with multiple gunshot wounds around 8:09 pm; he was taken to a hospital and later pronounced dead. The Metropolitan Police Department opened a homicide investigation and asked the public for information.

Nearly a year later two men arrested in an unrelated homicide—Gregory Smithwick, 22, and Dominique Holmes, 23—told police in interviews that their friend Ricky Kelly had been responsible for Lucas’s November 2013 killing. Authorities did not publicly confirm whether Kelly was officially linked to Lucas’s shooting. Few other details about motive or a timeline have been reported.

If anyone has information about Lucas, his movements that night, or the people involved, please share what is known with investigators.
