On the evening of February 28, 2014, brothers Jason Emmanuel Bryant, 26, and his older brother Khalid Jamal Bryant, 34, were walking in the 5000 block of Lee Street NE in the Deanwood neighborhood of Washington, D.C., when gunfire erupted around 7:45 p.m. Both men were found unconscious and not breathing when police arrived and were pronounced dead at the scene from gunshot wounds.
Family described the brothers as inseparable and close; they had lived together and had planned to meet their sister that night for her birthday. The Metropolitan Police Department opened a homicide investigation but released no immediate suspect descriptions. A reward of up to $25,000 has been offered for information leading to arrest and conviction, yet no arrests or publicly identified suspects have been reported.
Does anyone who lived in Deanwood or was in the area that night have information that could help bring justice for Jason and Khalid?
