I've been thinking a lot about the canoe incident where Ronald Osborne went missing back in 2007. Can anyone shed more light on the current runs and rapids in the China Rapids area around July? I'm curious how challenging the conditions are during that time of year. It’s strange that Ronald could cling to a life jacket and still vanish without a trace. Were there reports of debris or anything else that could have affected visibility or possibly tangled him up? I’m not sure how thorough the rescue search was or what tools they used back then. Anyone familiar with boating or the river have insights on this?

I’ve been following Ronald Michael Osborne's case and can't stop thinking about how underrated water safety often is, especially after hearing Vereb's account. It's terrifying how quickly things can go wrong, even with a buddy system. I grew up around rivers and can recognize that those currents can be deceptive and so dangerous. It's really puzzling how the life jacket he was holding onto was found but no other trace of him. I wonder if some of the local currents could have shifted things further down the river than expected. Have there been any talks or updates about expanding the search beyond the initial area? With something like this, it's hard not to keep hoping for answers for his family and friends.
