I've been following the case of Daeqwon Mackey, and something that keeps sticking with me is just how sudden and senseless this all seems. Imagine taking a casual walk around your neighborhood, something you've done countless times, and then your life is cut short by such a brutal act. I can't help but think about his family and friends who were probably looking forward to celebrating his upcoming birthday. Just 23… he had his whole life ahead of him.
I read that police are still looking for that silver Hyundai Sonata. Wondering if anyone has more info on how common such vehicles are in the area? It seems like a big clue, but also like finding a needle in a haystack. Yet, every piece of information, no matter how small, could be what helps the police catch those responsible.

I’ve been following this case closely, and my heart goes out to Daeqwon Mackey’s family. It’s hard to believe something like this could happen in a neighborhood people always said was so calm and friendly. I hope the Phenix City Police can make progress soon with help from the public. I mean, a silver Hyundai Sonata can’t be that hard to spot, right? Especially since drive-by shootings aren't the sort of thing that just happen regularly around there.
It’s moving to see how the community has come together to remember Daeqwon; he was obviously someone who touched a lot of lives. I saw somebody mention on social media that a local park held a small vigil for him. That sense of unity is something positive to hold onto in all this sadness.
