Anyone else catch that odd detail about the Sola III’s lack of safety equipment? It seems bizarre for someone as experienced as Ornaith to set out unprepared like that, especially at night in December. Sure, it had about a week's worth of food, but why neglect basics like foul-weather gear or essential safety items? With her sailing background and the fact she contributed to sailing mags, you'd think safety would be a priority. Also, I wonder if the decision to leave the marina was pre-planned or spur-of-the-moment. Maybe the stress of the divorce led to some impulsive decisions they wouldn’t normally make? If anyone has insights on being in the marina that winter, or living near Jack London Square back in '01, I'd love to hear what it was like around that time. Something feels off about the whole scenario.
