I've been following the tragic case of Ricardo Fuerte Velazquez, and something that really strikes me is the danger so many face trying to cross the Rio Grande. It's not just heartbreaking for the families, but infuriating to think about the risks people take out of desperation to be with their loved ones. What seems especially puzzling is the lack of detail about Ricardo's final days. Did he have any contact with smugglers? What kind of conditions was he dealing with on the journey? You would think with it being such a well-trodden path, there would be more eyewitness accounts or additional information emerging. It's really frustrating how silence can surround these situations. Keeping Ricardo's family in mind—hoping they can find some closure. ?
