Hey all, I've been diving deep into the case of Linda Lee Lovell and Stephen Packard, and I came across a detail that I find really intriguing. While we don't have much info about their exact movements after they reached Stinson Beach, the fact that a traveler's check was cashed in Packard's name in Westport, CA, has me wondering. It's around a 4-hour drive from where they were last seen, and during the '70s, hitchhiking was quite common.
I'm curious if anyone has looked into possible routes they might have taken or if there were any hitchhiking hot spots between those two points during that time. I've read about some hitchhiking communities that had certain meet-ups or areas they frequented in the 70s. If these spots still have any old-timers around who might have been on those trails, they could offer some leads or memories of these two. It's such a long shot, I know, but stranger things have happened! Anyone here familiar with the area or history that could shed some light?
