I've been looking into Amy Ortega Lopez's case, and one detail that's been nagging at me is the timing of when her family reported her missing. I know it's been noted there was over a month between the last time she was seen and the official missing person report on December 31, 2003. Given her close contact with her family, I'm wondering if there are any insights into why there might have been such a delay. Could it be related to her being on probation and having a warrant out? Maybe they thought she'd gone into hiding or something? I can understand the complexity and sensitivity of these dynamics, but it's puzzling considering how tight-knit they supposedly were. Anyone have thoughts or info on why the family may have waited?
