I’ve been following Delvin Tarver’s case, and one thing that continues to haunt me is the timing of it all. We’re talking about a young man on the cusp of graduating, with only days left before he could celebrate years of hard work. The thought that Delvin would have had his cap and gown ready, invitations sent for his graduation ceremony, and dreams of the future—I can’t even begin to fathom the immense loss felt by his parents and friends. Every time I drive past that CVS parking lot, I wonder about the moments just before it happened. How did things escalate so quickly? Was there a chance for things to de-escalate before it turned tragic? The fact that a stray bullet took such a promising life just makes my heart ache for his loved ones. Delvin’s mom, Cynthia, especially must be wrestling with so many questions, and I deeply admire her determination to push for justice amidst such pain. I genuinely hope anyone with information feels compelled to act. It’s essential for the community to rally together and help put the pieces of this puzzle in place. Closure and justice can’t undo the loss, but it’s something the family desperately needs. Delvin deserves that at the very least.
