Hey everyone, I'm curious if anyone has any information on the security measures that were in place at the Orange County Fair back in 1998. I know Michael Franz went missing after getting separated from his group there, and I'm wondering whether the fairgrounds had cameras or any security personnel patrolling the event. With the huge crowds and everything going on, I imagine it would have been pretty easy for someone to get lost or for something to go unnoticed. More eyes on the situation might have made a difference — or maybe they did have security measures, and there’s a reason nothing came of it. Just trying to connect the dots and see if there’s any angle we might not be considering. Any insights or thoughts would be appreciated!

Has anyone else looked into the security measures that were in place at the Orange County Fair back in 1998? I've been reading up on Michael Franz's disappearance, and it's baffling how someone could just vanish without any clue. I’m curious if there were any CCTV cameras, security personnel, or specific protocols for missing persons at the time. Considering Franz’s status as an endangered missing person, you'd think there would be some stringent procedures, but there seems to be little information in this area. Maybe someone familiar with how fairs operated back then could shed some light? It's frustrating how time can erase important details from public memory, but any insights could be helpful.
