Antonio Austin was 31 when he was fatally stabbed on the afternoon of Monday, July 27, 2015, on the 400 block of E Street, NW in Northwest Washington, D.C. The attack occurred about 3:04 p.m., near the Metropolitan Police Department headquarters. He suffered multiple stab wounds to his face, back and leg and died; he was engaged and the father of a 10-year-old daughter and a 2-year-old son, and the only brother among six siblings.

Family members who reviewed surveillance footage say three men followed Austin before he turned to confront them with his umbrella and was then attacked. The motive has not been established. The Metropolitan Police Department released images of three persons of interest and offered a $25,000 reward for information leading to arrest and conviction, but a year after the killing the family reported no arrests and expressed frustration that the case had gone cold.

If anyone saw activity near the 400 block of E Street, NW around 3 p.m. on July 27, 2015, or recognizes the men in the released images, please come forward with information.
