Daniel Brown was 19 when he was shot in the morning hours of October 23, 2015, on the 1400 block of First Street SW in Southwest Washington, D.C. He was critically wounded around 9:00 a.m. and taken to a local hospital.

Brown survived for two weeks after the shooting but died of his injuries on November 5, 2015. Motive and the sequence of events that led to the shooting remain unclear.
