A late-September shooting on the 2500 block of Elvans Road SE left two men initially wounded and one dead. Thomas Stalling, 50, of District Heights, Maryland, was pronounced dead at the scene on September 26, 2015. A 45-year-old man from Northwest D.C., Kenneth Evans, was critically injured and transported to a hospital.

Kenneth Evans survived for several weeks but died of his injuries on a Monday in early November, more than a month after the shooting, making him the second fatality from that ambush. A third person was also wounded in the same attack. The D.C. Police handled the investigation, and in the days and weeks after the incident no arrests had been announced; police had not publicly identified suspects or a motive.

If anyone has information about the shooting on Elvans Road SE or knew Kenneth Evans, please come forward to assist the investigation.
