I keep thinking about Jermaine Johnson, and my heart goes out to his family and friends during this unimaginably difficult time. I can't believe this was the 70th homicide in Birmingham this year. It's staggering and deeply concerning. For me, it's hard to wrap my head around something like this happening at 7:50 p.m. It feels surreal to think that such violence can take place in the early evening when so many of us are just settling in for the night. I wonder if anyone living near South Park Road or Fulton Avenue heard or saw anything that could help. Every bit of information might be crucial. I'm also frustrated by the lack of details coming from the Birmingham police right now. I know these investigations take time, but the waiting and uncertainty must be unbearable for those grieving. If anyone knows more or has heard anything, sharing even the smallest detail might make a difference.
