Hey everyone, I've been following this case for a while, and one thing that's been puzzling me is the timing of the rescue efforts. Does anyone know how soon after the distress call the rescue teams actually arrived? I know that equipment and response times back in the 1980s weren't what they are now, but I can't help wondering if a quicker response could have made a difference. Given the often unpredictable weather and sea conditions near Sitka, the speed of rescue could have been crucial. It's tragic to think about how every minute could have mattered in a situation like this. Also, were there any details about the condition of the water that day? Was it particularly rough, or did any locals report anything unusual? Would love to hear any insights or information anyone might have!
