Just thinking about Officer Doris Wayne Barber's service, it's so moving to see how much one person can contribute to so many communities. Having served in Chino, Las Vegas, and finally Sitka, he clearly dedicated his life to protecting and serving others. It must have been tough for his family, moving from place to place, yet it seems like he was truly committed to his calling. I can't imagine how his wife and kids adjusted to life after such a sudden loss. They must carry the strength and courage he had. It's important for us to remember not just his tragic end, but the many lives he touched through his service.

It's deeply saddening to think about Officer Doris Wayne Barber and what his family went through after his tragic death. Being relatively new to the Sitka Police Department, he was just beginning another chapter in his law enforcement career. It speaks volumes about his dedication that he had served in multiple states, each time starting anew to protect and serve different communities. The fact that he was also a U.S. Army veteran shows his lifelong commitment to service. My heart aches for his wife and children, having to deal with such a sudden and violent loss. It's important for us to remember the daily risks that officers like him take and the sacrifices they make. To anyone who knew him or was part of his life in any of those communities, his bravery and dedication won't be forgotten.
