Reading about Officer Pfalmer's story really makes you appreciate the sacrifices law enforcement officers make every day. What stands out to me is the dedication of APD Community Service Officer Cathy Diehl-Robbins in ensuring Officer Pfalmer's legacy was honored. It's such a powerful reminder of how important it is not to forget those who serve and sacrifice, even decades after the fact. Her efforts to have his name included on the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial really brought some much-deserved recognition to his case and kept his memory alive for future generations. Does anyone know if Anchorage PD does anything annually to remember him or if there are events that bring awareness to such historical cases within the department? It feels like something important not just for the families involved but for the community as a whole to reflect on.
Hi everyone,
I recently came across the case of Officer William G. Pfalmer Jr., and something that really got me thinking is how resilient his family must have been through those years. It must have been incredibly tough to watch a loved one's health decline due to such a violent act, and yet carry on with life as each surgery brought uncertainty and hope in equal measure.
Having three young sons at the time, I can't begin to imagine the strength and courage his wife must have had. Raising a family under those circumstances is no small feat. It's important to acknowledge the human stories behind these tragic incidents and keep those families in our thoughts.
Anyone local know if there's been any memorial or community event dedicated to his memory beyond the National Memorial inclusion? It seems like remembering his service would be a way to further honor his legacy.
Thoughts and any local insight would be appreciated.
