I've been following discussions about the Fairbanks murders, and one thing that really stands out to me is the intense fear that must have gripped the community back then. Lori Scott King was just 18, with her whole life ahead of her, and the fact that she was one of several victims is absolutely terrifying. It's so unsettling to think about what her friends and family must have gone through, knowing that a killer was on the loose who had taken such a cruel method to end lives. It seems like living in Fairbanks at that time would have been like constantly looking over your shoulder, especially for women close to Lori’s age. The fact that the suspect, Thomas Bunday, was someone in a position of trust as a member of the U.S. Air Force just adds another layer of betrayal. My heart goes out to everyone who was impacted by this series of tragedies, both directly and indirectly. It's crucial that we remember Lori and all the victims, ensuring their stories aren't forgotten even as time passes.
