Has anyone else been following the case of Damon Lee Petrie? I've been thinking about the mystery behind his disappearance, especially with the friend he was reportedly traveling with. It's puzzling that Petrie was seen getting out of the vehicle near Green Springs Inn, and then just vanished into thin air.
Why did the friend wait two hours before looking for him? Maybe something more happened in those crucial minutes when Petrie got out of the car. It's odd that the friend waited so long to approach the authorities too – I mean, waiting until December 18 to report him missing seems strange if he truly was worried.
With the inaccurate information initially given to law enforcement, I feel like we might not have all the pieces. If Petrie had swollen legs and wasn't wearing a heavy coat, wandering off into the wilderness in December could have been really risky.
I’m curious if anyone familiar with the area can shed light on how far someone might manage to walk in that condition or if there are any other factors in that location that might explain why there’s been no sign of him so far.
I've been following Damon Lee Petrie's case closely and something that puzzles me is why the friend waited two hours before looking for him. Highway 66 near Green Springs Inn is pretty remote, and with Damon having difficulty walking due to swollen legs, it seems risky for him to have wandered off on his own. I can't help but wonder if there was a misunderstanding or miscommunication between the two. If the reporting party was also giving inaccurate info, it makes me think there might be more to this story. Did they see something that made them assume Damon was okay to leave the vehicle? Anybody familiar with the area have thoughts on how risky it would be to get out on foot there, especially in winter without a coat?
