I came across the case of Luis Mendez, and my curiosity is piqued by the detail that he was last seen at a police station. I'm not trying to blame anyone here, but doesn't it seem odd that someone's last known sighting would be in such a public and presumably safe location? Has anyone heard if there's surveillance footage from that night? It feels like there should be more transparency about what happened during and after his visit. There's been a lot of debate over police records transparency, and I wonder if anyone has had success getting more information through FOIA requests in similar cases. Would be interested to hear others' thoughts on how to approach this, or if anyone has been following how Chicago PD handles such situations.
