Hey everyone,
I've been thinking about the impact this tragedy has had on the Mountain View community. Raynaldo's death and the other shooting that same day really seemed to shake everyone up, and rightly so. There were those community vigils afterwards, right? Just shows how people came together in response, trying to find some solace and strength in each other. It’s just devastating how violence has crept into places that should be safe for our kids.
The discussion around neighborhood violence seems more urgent than ever. I’m curious to hear from locals or anyone who's been following this—has there been any lasting change or increased community efforts since then? Hoping we see more positive steps being taken to prevent such heartbreaking events in the future.
Stay safe out there ?
I've been thinking a lot about Raynaldo Khotesouvan’s tragic passing and what it means for our community. I didn't know him personally, but hearing how his family and friends describe him as a "sweet and caring brother" really stays with you. It’s just unimaginable to think about the hole that’s left when a young life is cut short this way.
For those of you who live in Anchorage or nearby—how do you think we can help prevent violence in neighborhoods like Mountain View? It’s scary to consider there were two separate shootings that day. I feel like the entire community must come together to find a way to address this violence and work towards some kind of healing or solution. The vigils seem like a meaningful place to start, but what else can we do to support families affected and keep this from happening again? Would love to hear thoughts or experiences from anyone who’s been involved in similar initiatives.
