I’ve been reading about Brenda Smalley's case, and amidst all the discussions, I can't help but think about the silent witnesses of that night—the four family members who were in the house. It must be incredibly traumatizing to be there during such a nightmarish ordeal. My heart goes out to them as they process and deal with the immense grief and trauma that must follow. I wonder about the kind of support and counseling they’re receiving since they were so closely involved, even if not directly in the confrontation. Hopefully, those facing similar situations in terms of witnessing domestic violence can see the necessity of seeking help and support. This case only further proves how important it is for communities and family members to reach out, offer help, and be vigilant in recognizing signs of domestic distress. My thoughts are with Brenda's family during this overwhelmingly difficult time.
