Hey everyone, I've been thinking a lot about Barbara Ann Myers' case, and one thing that keeps coming up in my mind is the role of the natural environment in Overton and its surrounding areas. The community is nestled in the Moapa Valley, which is surrounded by vast desert landscapes and the beautiful yet potentially hazardous terrain of Valley of Fire State Park. Considering how easily one could inadvertently wander off the beaten path in those wide-open spaces, it makes me wonder if Barbara somehow ended up in one of those remote areas. With her being 72 and slight in stature, the harsh conditions could pose a serious threat if she got disoriented or lost. The desert can be unforgiving, especially for anyone physically vulnerable. Does anyone here have insights or thoughts about local search efforts in such environments? I know from following cases in similarly remote areas that drones and specialized search teams can be crucial, but I'm curious how frequently they're used in cases like Barbara's. Any input on search and rescue strategies in desert terrains would be really valuable. Thanks in advance.
