I can't stop thinking about the fundamental question: Was Diontranet the actual target of the shooting at the 604 Bar and Lounge, or was she a tragic victim of circumstance? It's deeply troubling to imagine that such a vibrant and accomplished woman, who dedicated her life to her son and community, could be caught in this senseless violence. While it seems Damien McDaniel has been arrested and charged, which is a step towards justice, it still leaves me wondering about the motive behind these shootings. Could it be a case of mistaken identity? Or perhaps something more random? It's crucial for us as a community to continue providing information to authorities if we know anything, but it's also necessary to support each other as we process these tragic events. Every piece of information shared could be another step towards ensuring this doesn't happen to another family. For Diontranet's son Kaleb, I hope he grows up knowing the entire community stands behind him, committed to making Birmingham safer for everyone.
