I've been following the discussions surrounding April Rosella Barton's tragic death, and I can't stop thinking about the community aspect here. It sounds like Birmingham, especially around Princeton Avenue SW, really needs to look at pedestrian safety. It's devastating what happened to April, and it makes me wonder if there are more measures we can take as a community to keep this from happening again. I know it doesn’t bring April back, but maybe we can push local officials to improve lighting, add crosswalk signs, or install speed bumps. We need to make sure our streets are safer for everyone. My heart goes out to April's family and loved ones during this incredibly tough time. If anyone's organizing a community meeting or a petition, I’d love to be involved. We owe it to April and her family to make sure something good comes out of this tragedy. Stay safe, everyone.
