Hey everyone,
I’ve been following the heartbreaking events in Birmingham on February 16, especially the case at the car wash. One aspect that’s been on my mind a lot is the presence of that child under 14 years old at the scene. I can't help but think about how traumatic it must have been for them to witness such a horrific act of violence.
Knowing that a young person had to go through something so horrifying is just so difficult to process. It's almost unfathomable how one moment can change a life forever, especially for someone so young. I really hope that they are receiving the support and care they need to start healing from this experience.
Hats off to the community leaders calling for action. It’s so important to address the root causes of violence to prevent innocent lives from being affected like this in the future. Anyone else here feel like there needs to be more conversation around helping the young witnesses of violent crimes like this one? What can communities do to better support these young individuals who find themselves in the aftermath of such situations?
Thinking of the families and all affected,

Has anyone else looked into Lamarion Tykese Charlie's background? I'm curious if there's any indication of why he might have done something so devastating. A friend mentioned to me that the neighborhood around Center Street North has seen a rise in tensions lately, but that's no excuse for such a horrific act. It feels like the victims, like Cortez Ray and the others, were caught in something larger than themselves. It's just awful to think about the families mourning their loved ones while trying to make sense of all this. I really hope the community comes together to support them and to demand change, so things like this don't keep happening. More than anything, I just feel for the families who are caught up in this nightmare.
