I was reading about the hit-and-run involving Gregory Lee Scott, and my heart goes out to his family and friends dealing with this senseless loss. It's absolutely shocking how someone could just drive away after hitting a person and leave them there. It makes you wonder what was going through that driver's mind—or if they were even aware of the magnitude of their actions. I think it's crucial for us all to start a conversation around how to prevent these tragedies. Why aren't there more pedestrian safety measures on roads like Green Springs Highway, where this happened? Maybe more crosswalks or speed bumps could help. It’s not a cure-all, but could make a difference. And for those in Birmingham—or anywhere else for that matter—let’s stay vigilant and support local law enforcement. They’re working around the clock to find the driver responsible, and I truly hope they’re brought to justice soon. It feels like only when communities band together do we really see change. Sending strength and support to everyone touched by this tragedy.
