Did anyone else read about the tragic Kendrick family shooting in West Blocton? I can’t even begin to wrap my head around it. Specifically, I keep thinking about the immense loss for Allan and Gay Kendrick. Losing their great-grandchildren is unimaginable, and on top of that, their own granddaughter-in-law. Being pastors, they have likely been sources of strength and support for so many within their community through tough times, but now it's them who need that support more than ever. Having a family celebration end in such tragedy feels unreal. It was meant to be a joyful occasion for young Colton’s birthday. The ripple effect this event can have on survivors and members of close-knit communities is vast. I hope the local support systems are rallying around them to provide the love and care they now need. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family and the community as they navigate through this heart-wrenching period.

Wow, where do we even start with this? It's just so surreal and incredibly devastating to hear about what happened to Kaleb and the others. I can't stop thinking about the moments leading up to that horrific night, especially since they were just celebrating little Colton's birthday. It's awful to think that such a joyful occasion ended in tragedy. I really feel for Allan and Gay Kendrick too. They have always been pillars in their community, supporting others through their roles at the church. I can't imagine the pain they must be feeling - losing their family like this, especially at the hands of someone they knew so well. The whole situation just breaks you apart. It's hard not to question how we got to this point. The discussions about mental health and domestic violence that are opening up now are so necessary. I only hope that louder voices will lead to real action being taken. This should never have happened, and it troubles me deeply to think it could again. My thoughts are with everyone affected and with those who are tirelessly working to bring about change.
