Hey everyone. I'm really worried about the recent string of violence we're seeing in Birmingham, especially after learning about Rico Brown's case. It's truly devastating to think about someone so young having their life cut short like this. My heart goes out to his family—can't even imagine what they're going through right now, having to be the ones to find him. I’ve been thinking about how critical it is for us as a community to play our part in these situations. Even the smallest piece of information could be vital. I know that Crime Stoppers is offering a reward, but beyond that, we need to come together to support one another and find solutions. What can we do to prioritize safety and prevent these tragedies from happening? Let’s channel our sorrow and frustration into action. Stay safe out there, everyone.

I can’t stop thinking about the fact that Rico was just 22 years old with so much life ahead of him. What gets to me is that his family members were the ones to find him. That’s something no parent or sibling should ever have to endure. I can only imagine the anguish they must be experiencing right now. It’s deeply unsettling that no suspects have been identified yet. I hope those who might know something feel compelled to come forward. Justice for Rico and his family is imperative, but community safety is, too. This kind of violence should not be the norm. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by this senseless tragedy.
