Has anyone been following the Oscar Pena case? I was digging around and found out he checked himself out of Anaheim Global Hospital even though he was advised against it. Does anyone know how often hospitals let patients leave when they shouldn’t? It seems risky given his medical dependency. Also, I've been wondering, are there systems in place in California for tracking or assisting patients who are homeless and leave hospitals like this? It just feels like there should be more safety nets to prevent people from falling through the cracks, especially when health is involved. What do you all think?
Just learned about Oscar Pena’s situation and I’m really worried. I know he left the hospital against medical advice, but does anyone know if Orange County has been checking local shelters and encampments for him? Given his medical condition, he might not be able to properly seek help or even find his way back to a safe spot. If anyone has contacts in Anaheim or knows of outreach programs operating in the area, spreading the word there might be crucial. Every little bit helps when someone is so vulnerable.
